Looking for fun activities to do with your family or friends this summer without breaking the bank? We love sharing stories about the work of our fellow District 5110 clubs, especially when those stories clearly show the work our clubs do to benefit their communities. Here’s one example: The Rotary Club of Bay Area Sunrise (Coos Bay-North Bend-Charleston) Interact Club hosted its third annual Iron Chef competition to benefit Rotary programs like the youth exchange and Rotary service projects like helping a local school renovate its study lounge. We are very excited to announce that five members of our district will be leaving on February 28 for an adventure to the Eastern Caribbean, including Barbados, Dominica, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent. Their trip is part of Rotary’s group study exchange (GSE), a unique program that provides cultural immersion and a vocational exchange opportunity for young professionals between the ages of 25 and 40. While they may spend some time soaking up the sun on a beach like the one shown in the photo at left, GSE participants will spend most of their time observing how people in other countries practice...

This Thursday, District Governor John Cox will be speaking to the Eugene Airport Rotary during its weekly meeting. November is Rotary Foundation month, and TRF is a very important cause to DG John.
