Local Artist and Rotarian Hanna Hagen will be holding a ceramic painting event from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 13, 2009 to support the Rotary Volunteer Service Team to Africa in Jan. 2010.
The event will be $10 a person, which covers a ceramic bowl, refreshments, and much more fun!

On Friday, Sept. 4 – Sunday Sept. 6, 2009, hot rods, roadsters, cars, motorcycles, 4×4s, and rock crawlers are gathering in Junction City to celebrate the Labor Day weekend.
The first annual Big Boys Toys Show in Junction City will consist of concerts, such as Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts, cars show ‘n shine, and motorcycle show ‘n shine. The 4×4 tough truck competitions, rock crawler competitions, 4×4 and truck show ‘n shine, and RC Crawler competitions will be held in Harrisburg.
Eugene Airport Rotary will be taking part in the festivities by serving beer at the show in Junction...

The Great Rotary Duck Race, which benefits agencies that fight child abuse, will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 10, 2009 at Alton Baker Park in Eugene, Ore.
For the past 20 years, Rotarians are responsible for sponsoring, promoting and selling 811,046 Ducks at $5 each. Since 1988, local Rotarians have raised over $4 million to combat child abuse.
2009 Rotary Duck Race proceeds will benefit the following agencies: Family Relief Nursery – Cottage Grove, Heart Gallery of Lane County, Direction Service Willamette Family Treatment, and Committed Partners for Youth.

First Friday Art Walk will take place June 5, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Modern-Store, 207 E 5th Ave. The Art Walk will continue at Fenario Gallery, White Lotus Gallery, Jacobs Gallery, and end at Opus6ix. Special events such as Skateboard Art Show, “Chalk the World,” and Summer Soirèe also will take place during the Art Walk.
The event is supported by the Lane Arts Council. This month, the event is hosted by Debbie Williamson-Smith, Public Relations Coordinator at the UO’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.

The Brownsville Scrapbook Show & Sale will take place at the Brownsville Rec Center, located behind City Hall on Park Street. Over 350 antique dealers from around the country gather in the tiny town of Coburg each year for the Coburg Antique Fair. A variety of food booths and great musical entertainment make this a wonderful event for the whole family! Admission and parking are free.

If ever there was a time to visit Lane County’s wineries, Labor Day weekend would be it. Start off at Lavelle Vineyards with the Great American Picnic and enjoy food, wine and live music with your friends and family. August 30, 31 and September 1, from noon-6p.m. Sweet Cheeks Winery will host its annual Labor Day Open House. The celebration will feature daily music by Paul Blondi. During the holiday, King Estate’s Market place will be open to the public for dining and wine tasting.
