2019 Scholarship Breakfast

On May 23, 2019, the Airport Rotary Foundation hosted over 215 guests for a college scholarship breakfast at the Shadow Hills Country Club. The Foundation awarded 79 scholarships to 30 HS seniors  ($2,000 each) from 10 local high schools, and 49 continuing college student scholarships ($1,000 each) for a total of $109,000. Unique to our scholarship program is the opportunity to renew the initial scholarship up to three times while the students remain in a college, university, or trade school within the State of Oregon. Students and their parents were hosted for breakfast, and our special guests included our annual auction sponsors, HS Principals, Counselors, College Coordinators, Superintendents, School Board Members, and University Faculty. A total of 12 different colleges and universities were represented by the student recipients. This distribution puts our 23-year total at $785,750 to 641 high school and college students. Our goal for 2021 is to break the $1M mark for distributions for our 25th Anniversary. Next year's annual auction for scholarships will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Valley River Inn in Eugene. Mark your calendars today!
