Rotary Photo Friday

One week ago, the eyes of the nation were on Pasadena, California and the Rose Parade.  Dozens of floats traveled the parade route and were seen by millions watching in Pasadena and on television.  One of those floats was titled “Service Above the Rest,” and that was Rotary International’s addition to the Rose Parade lineup, pictured at left.

Over 200 million people in 300 countries witnessed the float and Rotary’s message of service on New Year’s Day.  The fact that the float was even featured in the parade is the direct result of Rotarians’ generosity; the float was not funded by Rotary funds and was not an official Rotary project.  Thanks to the generous donations of Rotarians worldwide, the Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee was able to assemble the float and proudly display Rotary to all Rose Parade viewers.
