We’re lucky to live in such a bountiful area of the world! Fresh, locally grown fruits and veggies are available with just a trip to local farmer’s markets. Now, find fresh produce in Springfield on Fridays! “It’ll Grow on You!” 9 am – 3 pm Fridays from July 11 – October. Downtown Springfield, off Main between 5th and 6th. Admission is free! The market is supported by the Neighborhood Economic Development Council (NEDCO).

Our annual Eugene Ems club social is Friday, July 18th. Come enjoy a game at Civic Stadium, along with hamburgers, hot dogs and beer. I dare you to name a better way to spend a summer evening! The Ems play the Vancouver Canadians. (Really? the Canadians? now that’s fierce!) You enter the park through the 1st base picnic area (see map below) The cost is $17 per person. On 1 July, Rotary’s new year began, ushering in new leaders, a new RI theme, and new goals. In 2008-09, RI welcomes its first president from Korea, Dong Kurn Lee. Rotarians already have shown enthusiastic support for Lee’s theme, Make Dreams Real , which will focus on decreasing child mortality and building membership.
