Thank You, Rotary! Letter From Senior Companion Program

Eugene Airport Rotary funded the Senior Companion 2008 Recognition Dinner.

An excerpt

Our 2008 Recognition Event, A Western Affair, was a fabulous celebration for Lane County’s wonderful Senior Companions, who do so much for our Lane County communities!

Your generous donation of $2000 allowed us to serve a traditional “western” meal to 100 people and to recognize our Senior Companions and their supervisors this year. We sat around the campfires (read “tables”) and enjoyed bar-b-qued ribs, coleslaw, baked beans, biscuits, cake, and good old fashioned out-on-the-range music by the Bald Mountain Men. I wish you could have seen us all decked out in blue jeans, boots, and cowboy hats.

The Airport Rotarians received two rounds of applause, one before and one after we ate. I am sorry a big group of you weren’t there to receive the praise. Truly, we had such fun and felt such warm support from you and our community at large.
