Eugene Airport members helped distribute baskets to needy families. Cascade Middle School fund-raised and promoted this project in the community to help their students and families. This year there were 34 Project Reindeer Family delivers, 10 Staff Member Family Sponsorship deliveries, 13 Cal Young Student Service Project deliveries, and 2 Bethesda Lutheran Church deliveries. The Santa Clara River Road Volunteer Library aims at reaching a group of individuals who cannot utilize the Eugene City Library. The Volunteer Library opened in 2003 and operates with 17 volunteers. Donations are graciously accepted. The Volunteer Library offers a collection of 38,000 donated books. The donated books that are unable to be used are sold in a book sale to raise funds for operations. The Volunteer Library focuses on children by providing two children programs a year. The most recent was called “Get a Clue” and theme was a book about a dog detective. The children...

David Klindt, Co-Chair of the Annual Fund, gave inspirational reasons to continue giving to the Rotary Foundation. David is also a member of Eugene Delta. His speech provided insight to his life experience as a professional soldier for 20 years and his efforts to help the world strive for peace. A common phrase throughout his speech was, “We must stop killing eachother.” Very well put! On October 29th, Robert Melnick presented to Airport Rotary. Mr. Melnick is the Director of the Museum of Art on the University of Oregon campus. One of Museum’s goals is to have repeat visitors. Many Airport Rotarians had visited the Museum but not in the last few months. The Museum has rotating exhibits, a kid friendly environment, an integrated Marche Cafe with jazz performances.
