United Way’s Success by Six Hosts Community Breakfast

Thursday we were joined by two folks from the United Way Success by Six program. The presentation focused on brain development in early childhood years. The development of language and social interaction are heavily dependent on the interactions the child has very early on.

Windows for Development:

The Success by Six mission is: To mobilize Lane County’s families, organizations and communities to ensure that all children are safe, healthy, cherished and enter school ready to learn.

Success by Six is hosting a community breakfast this Wednesday, October 24 from 7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. The cost is just $10.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Dennis Embry, will present “Simple Gifts for our Children:  How Lane County Could Become the Best Place for Kids in America.”  Dr. Embry discusses the challenges facing children and families in Lane County and how to translate that information into more effective prevention initiatives in our community.

Along with the keynote, Success by 6 will release its 2007 Report Card.
