Eugene Airport Club Gets SMARTer

For more than a year, we’ve supported our local Start Making a Reader Today program. We do so through financial support – $500 a year. And, we do something a little different. Each speaker that presents to our club has a book donated in their name to the local program.

This year, we renewed our commitment for another $500 and took the weekly donation a step further. President M.E. Riley presents the actual book to the speaker with their name on the inside bookplate alongside the Club’s name. Each book goes home with a student.

Speakers are thrilled with this gesture and we continue to support local kids and literacy projects in our community.
