Thursday we were joined by two folks from the United Way Success by Six program. The presentation focused on brain development in early childhood years. The development of language and social interaction are heavily dependent on the interactions the child has very early on. Eugene Airport Club Gets SMARTer

For more than a year, we’ve supported our local Start Making a Reader Today program. We do so through financial support – $500 a year. And, we do something a little different. Each speaker that presents to our club has a book donated in their name to the local program. This year, we renewed our commitment for another $500 and took the weekly donation a step further. President M.E. Riley presents the actual book to the speaker with their name on the inside bookplate alongside the Club’s name. Each book goes home with a student.
